Alberta Netcare Access Administrators

A Netcare Access Administrator (AA) is the primary contact who liaises with Alberta Health at a facility. Netcare AA responsibilities include the following:

  • Information-Security Awareness
    Netcare AAs are responsible for ensuring that users are trained about information-security and privacy issues related to Netcare. They also assist custodians in ensuring that Alberta Netcare users protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of health information.
  • Reporting Information-Security Incidents and Problems
    Netcare AAs must assist in the investigations of potential information-security or privacy breaches in Alberta Netcare.
  • ANP Account Access Management
    Netcare AAs must ensure user access to confidential health information is properly administered and granted only on a need-to-know basis. As such, the Netcare AA is responsible for user registrations, amendments and deletions to Alberta Netcare access.
