Immunizations Quick References and eDemo

As of December 14, 2017, adverse events following immunization (AEFI) details from across the province are available to view in Alberta Netcare. Previously, this data was only available as a yes, however additional clinical details are now viewable for serious AEFI’s. Non serious AEFI’s will continue to display as a yes or blank.

At the click of a button, all clinical users will be able to find out if their patients’ had an AEFI and view relevant details, including the report date, the description, and recommendations for further immunization.  AEFI data will assist all immunizers, primary care providers, emergency health practitioners and specialists with making clinical decisions.  Additionally, all clinical users will be able to find out if their patients’ immunizations are up to date and view relevant details, including the date, vaccine/antigen and service location.

This data assists all immunizers, primary care providers, emergency health practitioners and specialists to make clinical decisions.

The immunization records come from Alberta Health Services (AHS), and include provincially funded immunizations, some travel immunizations, as well as influenza immunizations provided by community pharmacies. Immunization data for AHS facilities go back 20-50 years and pharmacy sites go back 6-10 years.
