Provincial Registration Standards and Practices (PRSP) Manual

Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services have prepared the  Provincial Registration Standards and Practices Manual for our Customer Representatives to use and apply when registering clients into our Health Systems.

In this manual, there are 4 distinct processes when registering a new client / patient into our Health Systems

  1. Identifying the client at any point of service,
  2. Searching for the client in the relevant registration system,
  3. Verifying the client's identify, and
  4. Registering the client in the relevant registration system.

These processes are important to ensure that all of the records maintained are accurate.  Accurate records play a critical role in the client's safety and quality of care.
